Advanced Women’s Healthcare proudly announces that one of our very own has been named one of D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas for 2017. Dr. Amy Sigman was chosen as one of the Best Doctors in Dallas for Gynecology-Obstetrics. In private practice since 1999, Dr. Sigman was the first female doctor to join Advanced Women’s Healthcare, which is now an all-female physicians practice.
Given out each year since 2004, doctors are nominated by their peers and vetted by a panel of esteemed physicians, which changes every year to ensure impartial consideration. The list is finalized by verifying each doctor’s medical license, board certification, and disciplinary status. It is an intricate and detailed process, recognizing the top doctors in over 60 categories. With thousands of doctors in the running for this nomination, Advanced Women’s Healthcare is proud to have this distinction given to Dr. Sigman.
Born in Montreal, Dr. Amy Sigman immigrated to Dallas when she was nine, becoming an American citizen in 2003. She was inspired by her father, Dr. Gerald Sigman, who allowed her (as a high school student) to observe one of his deliveries…and she was sold on becoming an obstetrician and gynecologist. She attended the University of Pennsylvania and went on to receive her doctorate at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.
Dr. Sigman feels right at home at Advanced Women’s Healthcare. And with Dr. Sigman’s interest in minimally invasive surgeries including robotics and hysteroscopy, she is a a valued member of the Advanced Women’s Healthcare family.
