Single Site Robotic hysterectomy is the next step in the evolution of hysterectomies. We now have the ability to perform a hysterectomy (or cholecystectomy, or appendectomy) through a virtually scar less procedure. The Robotic Single Site procedure is performed through a 2.5 cm incision that goes directly through your belly button. This minimizes  scaring  and post operative pain. While better for the patient, it is  technically more difficult for the surgeon to perform. Surgeons must receive specialized training, and already be proficient at performing Robotic hysterectomies.

As the technology advances, we will be able to offer single site procedures to a greater variety of patients. Patient selection is currently limited by: the patient’s BMI, the size of her uterus, and other complicating factors (scar tissue, endometriosis, prior surgeries, etc.).
