  • Benadryl, Claritin or Claritin-D, Zyrtec or Zyrtec-D
  • Mucinex plain or Mucinex DM
  • Saline nasal spray
  • Sudafed, plain (not if you have high blood pressure)


  • Citracel, Konsyl, Metamucil, or Miralax (bulking agents, can be used daily)
  • Colace (stool softener)
  • Milk of Magnesia (true laxative, only if necessary)


  • Cough drops (any)
  • Mucinex-DM
  • Robitussin DM or Robitussin PE


  • Avoid foods high in caffeine, fats, fiber or milk products
  • Take adequate fluids with carbohydrates and electrolytes (Gatorade, PowerAde)
  • Imodium, Kaopectate, but NO Pepto Bismol (contains aspirin)


  • Tylenol- 2 Extra Strength tablets according to label directions
  • Do NOT take Advil, Aspirin or Motrin


  • Gaviscon, Maalox, Mylanta, Tums
  • Simethicone (any over the counter gas med)
  • Tagamet or Zantac after the first trimester (12 weeks)


  • Anusol, Preparation H, Tucks
  • Avoid constipation

Nausea and Vomiting

  • Seasickness bands (acupressure points), Vitamin B6 25 mg three times a day
  • Dramamine, Emetrol, Ginger Supplements, Ginger Tea, Peppermint Tea

Sore Throat

  • Chloroseptic spray, cough drops, salt water gargle

Yeast Infection

  • Monistat Cream, insert the applicator only one/half way.
