Dr. Maria Reyes, OB/GYN
Advanced Women’s Healthcare, Dallas, TX
Dr. Maria Reyes grew up in East Texas where her father was an OB/GYN physician who not only inspired her, but also allowed her to experience his vocation firsthand. “For years, my father was the only OB in town. I saw the positive impact he had in our community. I loved going with him on rounds, even when I was very young. Getting to see the new babies through the nursery window was a real thrill for me. I started working in his office when I was only 10, and thought the pregnant women were so beautiful.”
“It is such an honor to partner with women and be part of their pregnancy and their lives, often delivering two or three babies together. Honestly, I see my patients as a close friend or relative…”
After attending high school at The Hockaday School in Dallas, Dr. Reyes attended Emory University where she earned a degree in psychology. She received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts ,and returned to “The Big D” to complete her residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. During residency, Dr. Reyes trained with the AWH physicians, so she is excited to partner with them after knowing them for many years.
