Dr. Heidi Harms
Dr. Heidi Harms was inspired by her grandfather to study medicine, who was a physician that she thought the world of and aspired to be like. Having grown up in Great Falls, Montana, Dr. Harms came south to Texas to study at Baylor University in Waco where she worked in molecular biology and cancer research for several years prior to moving on to attend the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Upon completion of her coursework, she returned to Texas for her residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital where she served as a chief resident in her final year.
Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she joined Advanced Women’s Healthcare in 2005.
Having practiced for more than eight years, she is dedicated to providing gentle and compassionate care to her patients in all stages of their lives, and she enjoys all areas of OB/GYN, including adolescent gynecology, contraception management, infertility, obstetrics, pelvic surgery, urogynecology and menopausal management.
A member of Irving Bible Church, Dr. Harms also spends her free time with her husband, two sons and daughter, and she’s also recently taken up tennis so she can keep up with her sons, who are members of her community’s junior tennis league. And, Montana continues to hold a special place in her heart. She and her family return each summer to vacation in the Rocky Mountains for boating, skiing and spending quality time with the family.
As for the greater Irving metro area, she’s particularly fond of the culture, diversity and spirituality that the Metroplex has become known for and is proud to call her adopted city home.
